A Home page is central to a website’s core message and it is recommended to ensure that your home page is at its best, has a solid CTA, and it following growing trends. I looked 5 major brands SaaS Homepages and identified a growing trend that you could consider applying to your own website.
Some big brands are moving towards showing vs telling when it comes to homepage. Brands like Tik Tok, Airbnb, Substack, ChatGPT, & Feather are showcasing their product immediately above the fold. This in contrast to brands that use a headline to promote their product/service like Spindrift, Medium, Salesforce, & Adobe.
Brands offering a SaaS solution include some of their product above the fold Slack, ClickUp, Udemy, & Notion. Headlines are much closer to the navigation bar than ever before and the value is shown more quicker than ever before.
While different variations you’ll notice that homepages like Tik Tok, Airbnb, & Substack only have navigation, a main content section, and footer links. Users are dropped straight into the product as more and more users expect their needs met faster.
Tik Tok & Substack promote their mobile app on their homepage. The makes sense since their user base will largely be consuming content on mobile, as well as the fact that mobile devices are the most readily available around the entire world.
Knowing your users is essential. A great way to capture all of that data is through a user account. User accounts also increase the likelihood of a long-term customer so looking to set up an account-based site such as email marketing, memberships, subscriptions, etc. could be an effective angle for your business.
A content-first homepage is not the only way to have a successful homepage but it could be a great angle if you are looking for a refresh. Look to consider these features in your next rebrand!
No fluff. Just real projects, real value, and the path from code to cash — one useful build at a time.
